Relief Printmaking for Fabric: A Day of Exploring Pattern Design and Repeat Motifs.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, this workshop will introduce you to the exciting world of pattern design and fabric printing.
Throughout the day, you’ll learn the fundamentals of relief printmaking, including carving and creating your own designs on lino. Rosanna will guide you through various techniques for transferring your designs onto fabric and show you how to experiment with different inking methods to create bold, vibrant prints.
The focus will be on designing repeat patterns, where you’ll learn how to construct continuous motifs and patterns perfect for fabric. You’ll explore the art of seamless repeats, layering designs, and creating rich, textured patterns. Additionally, you’ll have time to experiment with one-off prints to discover your own unique style.
By the end of the day, you’ll take home a collection of hand-printed fabric samples featuring your own patterns, along with the skills to continue printing textiles at home.
All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Bring your creativity, a sketchbook with some ideas and enthusiasm! Dress for a hands-on, inky environment, and get ready for a fun and inspiring day immersed in the world of botanical and pattern-based printmaking.

***My studio is on the top floor of a large industrial warehouse and is not accessible for wheelchair users, or those with mobility issues. Please consider this when booking, I do endeavour to run courses in other more accessible locations and will post these once confirmed.
T&Cs:
Please note that any cancellations up to a month before the course date will be refunded in full. However any cancellations made within one month or less before the start date will forfeit £100 to cover my loss of earnings. Any cancellations made within a week of the course starting will not receive a refund unless I can find someone who can fill the spot.
