May 28th - Beginners linocut course - 1 day workshop

£110.00

Introduction to Linocut Printmaking: A One-Day Immersion in Relief Printing

Whether you’re an absolute beginner or looking to deepen your understanding of relief printmaking, this one-day workshop is a fast-track introduction to the essentials of linocut.

Throughout the day, you’ll learn the full process of creating original linocut prints — from developing a design and carving your block, to inking, printing, and editioning your work. Rosanna will guide you through safe and effective carving techniques, how to handle tools confidently, and how to produce crisp, expressive prints using both hand tools and the etching press.

You’ll explore methods for registration, experiment with different inking approaches, and learn how to edition your prints with accuracy. There will also be dedicated time for drawing and developing your own ideas, allowing space for creative exploration alongside technical learning.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll take home a small edition of your own hand-printed linocuts, as well as the confidence and skills to continue printing independently.

All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Bring a sketchbook or ideas if you wish, and dress for a hands-on, inky environment. The studio can get chilly, so warm layers are recommended.

10 am – 4 pm
Thursday 28th May

Mivart Studios, Easton, Bristol.

My studio is on the top floor of a large industrial warehouse and is not accessible for wheelchair users or those with mobility issues. Please consider this when booking. I do endeavour to run courses in more accessible locations and will share these once confirmed.

Any cancellations made within one month or less before the start date will forfeit £100 to cover loss of earnings.
